Upcoming investments and new features at Les Sommets: 2023-2024 Season

We are pleased to inform you that the les Sommets group will be investing over $11 million in infrastructure improvements over the coming year. Here's a brief overview of the planned investments.

Apollo, the new Sommet Olympia lift

Our biggest investment is unquestionably the installation of Apollo, a brand-new 4-seater chairlift with loading carpet at Sommet Olympia. Preparations are already underway, as the new lift is scheduled to open at the start of the 2023-2024 ski season. It will replace the mountain's previous triple lift.

Following the addition of the Laurentienne lift at Sommet Gabriel last year, the Apollo lift is the third new Doppelmayr-brand lift to be installed at les Sommets since 2019. Added to this is the ongoing upgrading of all our other lifts; the Soleil lift at Sommet Morin Heights, for example, was completely repainted last year. The Aiguille lift at Sommet Olympia and the Denis Forget lift on the north side of Sommet Gabriel are also getting a fresh coat of paint this year.

New snowmaking systems at versant Avila, Sommet Morin Heights, Sommet Gabriel and Sommet Olympia

In order to secure Quebec's longest ski season, several improvements will be implemented across our mountains. Firstly, snowmaking efficiency will be improved at versant Avila with the addition of automatic cannons on the Express Ouest trail.

In addition, the expansion of snowmaking systems at Sommet Morin Heights, Sommet Gabriel and Sommet Olympia will secure ski seasons for years to come. These investments will ensure that Les Sommets continues to stand out as a leader in snowmaking.

New groomer at Sommet Saint-Sauveur

To ensure the best possible snow conditions, Sommet Saint-Sauveur is equipping itself with a brand-new Prinoth Bison groomer for the coming season!

Improvements to versant Avila's Snow Tubing Park

New gates at the start of the tubing hills will be installed to make it easier to welcome and ensure the safety of our customers. This investment will improve working conditions for employees, who will now dispose of a fine tool to better control departures. A new double magic carpet will also be installed, greatly facilitating the transport of sliders to the top of the tube slides.

Renovation of the main group pavilion at Sommet Saint-Sauveur, versant Avila

In order to welcome more school groups and attract more new ski and snowboard enthusiasts to the mountain, a major investment has been made in the pavilion at versant Avila. Starting this winter, groups will be able to take advantage of a brand new facility that meets all their needs at the station.

Other additions

Other new features and investments will also be made for the 2023-2024 season:

  • Sommet Saint-Sauveur: New slides with anti-collision system at Viking;
  • Sommet Morin Heights: New wastewater treatment system.

See you on the slopes!
