Shane
There is no better way to enjoy the summer and outdoors than visiting the waterpark. Mont Saint-Sauveur's Waterpark is located 45 minutes from Montreal or 2 hours from Ottawa. It is here that you will truly enjoy relaxing water fun and high thrill rides, all while surrounded by a majestic ski mountain and ambiance. While it pains me to admit it, especially being a big MSSI fanboy, it had been over 2 years since my last visit to the waterpark, so I was very interested in seeing what has changed, and to once again experience my favorites. The biggest change is the addition this year of the new Blizzard water slide. This slide replaces the old Tandem River, and is quite enjoyable. Smooth turns, and a long dark enclosed section round out a perfectly designed ride. The descent takes you through the forest of the mountain and does not disappoint. The classics such as the Niagara (my personal favorite), the Manic, the mountain rivers (Remous and Cascades) remain as fun and exciting as ever. Elsewhere in the park, much has been refined and improved. Several slides used to be accessed by paths only covered with green carpet but on this visit, I could not find anything without a paved path. Even the grueling walk up to the top of the Niagara has been paved and the slope improved to be a much easier climb. There is also plenty of new eye-catching logos for the slides and rides. Another big change is the access to the park. The entry is now located next to the ticket booth, so the flow and access between the lodge and the park itself is much improved. A nice bonus is that the terrace of the lodge is now converted into the éTé-BAR 70, offering restaurant table service and a great menu, near the pool-spa. Also located outside the lodge is the Cabanas. This is a reserved area for visitors (available for an extra charge), that offers a nice sheltered area to relax and eat, a VIP parking spot located right next to the lodge, and a few other benefits that last the entire day of your visit. This is only a sample of what has changed but I can strongly say that Mont Saint-Sauveur have further refined their offering from what was already a world-class destination. With great weather this summer, the Mont Saint-Sauveur Waterpark is ready for you to enjoy. From the many restaurant options scattered throughout the park, to the new slides, the Viking, Dragon and park Fun rides, there is something for all ages, and all adventure levels. Enjoy the video above, taken on the new Blizzard and the classic Niagara!
