bluebirdday
First time going to Saint Saveur and we're only spending one day there so we would like to maximize our time on the slopes. I'm wondering which blue runs at Saint Saveur are the easiest (i.e. not super steep)? If the blue runs could be ranked from easiest to most difficult blues, that would be very helpful too! Thank you! Shane
Saint-Sauveur is a great mountain. The easiest trails are the Green Easy ones, such as La Plagne and Jack Rabbit (on the Avila side), and Red Bird (which I would say has a pitch in the middle that is a little more challenging than the other two mentioned above). For blue intermediate trails, there is quite a lot. I would say Jay (near the Sommet Express) would be one of the more challenging ones as it is narrow and has a bit of a drop at the end, so what i would suggest would be: Devaleuse and Cote 68 (on the Fleche d'Argent chairlift). Laurentides (on Avila) is also quite nice. From easiest to hardest for the Blue trails, Cote 68 and Laurentides would probably be easiest, then Devaleuse, then Jay (as the hardest Blue). Grand Elan is classed as a blue but it is usually not groomed so I would avoid that. If you want to try a black diamond that isn't that difficult, you could also try Express on the Avila side. It is quite large and the slope is fairly constant without any big drops. Overall the hardest trail at the mountain would be Nordique in front of the Chalet next to the little quad chairlift. Hope this helps. Have fun. Let us know how it goes!
