Gordo
From Mont Ste-Marie today: Opening Day is this Saturday at 9am. Vanier Chairlift. We have been strategically making snow with snow, blasting at the higher elevations by day when it is warmer and full snowmaking top to bottom at night. As a result this will be our earliest opening in Mont Ste-Marie's history and the first to open in the Region. We will have Serenade open and lift tickets will be Junior $29 and Adult $39. Open Saturday and Sunday 9-4pm. Purchase your tickets in person at Customer Service. Check our WEBCAM Matteo C
Matteo C
It seems like MSM is ready to open those runs as of Thursday of Friday, though with them being weekdays, and poor weather on friday, I can see how a weekend opening is more profitable. Tremblant has announced 13 trails-top to bottom on both sides, one of their largest openings to date! I wonder when Fortune will first spin its lifts... Paul
I haven't seen/heard of when Sutton, Owl's Head, Bellevue, or Orford will open. Hopefully soon! Bromont is to open December 2-4 for pass holders only. I had heard that Mont Gleason may open for this weekend November 26, but that is to be confirmed Thursday. Doesn't look like great weather this Friday or Sunday. Saturday looks decent but that can change in a heartbeat. Mont Farlagne maybe open for December 3rd, pass holders only. Matteo C
Calabogie announced a Dec 10 opening day, which is typical for them. Fortune definitely could have opened this weekend, but (I'm assuming) due to their lodge construction being incompleted/almost finished, as well as the ugly weather on Friday and Sunday, I can see next weekend being their opening date. Matteo C
The forecast doesn't look good for snowmaking. I don't expect most Ottawa resorts to open until the weekend of the 9-11th. I had an insane first ski of the season at tremblant yesterday, trip report coming soon! Shane
Shane
The mountains that have opened look to have had great conditions. Mont Ste Marie even opened, the top looked well covered and thinned as it neared the bottom from pics online. Hopefully the weather turns around soon so things can keep moving forward. Matteo C
Yeah Mont Saint Marie made snow early on, day and night, so they will be definitely open this coming weekend, but without a drastic change in weather I doubt any other ski areas will be able to get open this weekend. Matteo C
Camp fortune announced a delayed opening to Friday the 16th, while hills like Calabogie and MSM will be open this coming weekend
Gordo
I guess Camp Fortune gets a powder day on opening day. Nice heavy base snow. Might try to get up there on Saturday morning.
