Sommet Saint-Sauveur is making snow!

Given the weather forecast for the next week it seems like just a promotional teaser, but they are stoking the hype! It doesn't look like any of us in the Northeast will get to ski before *possibly* Saturday November 12, if the weather stays below zero for the requisite number of days to make snow. Like two years ago, I'm assuming we'll have a weekend opening, then closing for several days until it is cold enough to make more snow. Anyone else have any predictions?

I'm predicting November 12th for opening day. Next week long range looks to be below zero but not by much. Quality and quantity of snow made might not be enough though. Long range always changes and they could surprise us. They usually do.

This is the date I have been hearing as well. It will be a great season if it is not too dry and they make enough snow to open runs. The biggest factor that is out of their control is rain/snow mixing with the snow. When that happens you can be sliding on rain-soaked snow and the snow will melt VERY quickly.

A few of the Northeast mountains are likely to open on Tuesday, Skiology predicts. MSS will have three straight nights of below zero (last night, tonight, tomorrow) and it will remain below zero for the rest of the week. I predict a possible opening Wednesday. I'd be surprised if it was Tuesday. I'd also be surprised if they sit on their heels until Thursday, but if there is sleet/rain in the forecast, it could be possible.
