Paul
There hadn't been a lot news out of Tenney Mountain, NH since the start of the pandemic, but that has changed recently. Since March of 2020 Tenney had been shuttered once again as management decided to close, and not operate during the height of the pandemic. One of the mountains in NH to do so. The other being Granite Gorge near Keene, NH. It has been announced that Tenney Mountain has been sold, confirmed as of April 29, 2022. There has been no formal announcement on the future operations of the mountain. Tenney had been accessible only to backcountry skiers with occasional grooming for the past 2 seasons. I only hope that is turns out to be good news, and Tenney reopens. Paul
Great to see that Tenney is not down and out. I am looking forward to a possible road trip there for 2022-23 to catch up with some of the team, and to update things. Another area that looks like it was saved recently was Granite Gorge near Keene, NH. Bought at foreclosure auction and, it had been mentioned that there could be a reopening for 2022-23. Paul
Just a quick note for those interested in Tenney, Mike@Tenney has started back up their videos on updating their progress on projects, work, and general news about what is going on and what's about to happen there. It's great to see Tenney coming back alive since their closing during the pandemic. The plan is for them to re-open for the 2022-23 season. davidrthompson
While it is true that Tenney Mountain hadn't been a lot of news out of this area, it has been sold to the New Hampshire Fish and Game, and will be run as a State Park. There will be no lift access, but a new snowmobile trail and a new snowshoe trail are being planned. Tunnels and chutes will be set up for the new trail, but they will be off-limits to snowboarders. As wonderful as Tenney is, it is extremely rustic. With more than 500 acres of glades, you can still ride the mountain without a lift. I know a lot of snowboarders who love Tenney. Paul
From what I had heard Tenney was sold in April to a Massachusetts company North Country Development group with Sir Michel Bouchard staying on as part of the Management group. I also understand that there will be lift service via the Eclipse triple chair and Hornet double chair. Tenney has been closed since March 2020 during the pandemic and backcountry skiing was allowed during this time. Also from what I had heard the are awaiting on a delivery of snowmaking equipment. Ill have to contact Michael for an update on the status of Tenney. Has Tenney since been sold again over the summer of 2022 to NH Fish & Game? Here is a link of the purchase of Tenney back in April 2022 for the sale. https://www.newenglandskiindustry.com/viewstory.php?storyid=
