Val St-Come - New Detachable Six-Pack is coming

Not quite breaking news as it has been thrown around for a little while now, but Val St-Come is getting a new detachable six-pack chairlift this summer.

Speculation is it will replace the existing triple chairlift and be a Doppelmayr. What is not clear is whether it will be extended to reach the top of the 1000 Feet section to provide easier access.

On the trail map below, the triple chair is "B". The map does not paint a clear picture so see further down a screen capture of Google Earth.

As you can see here, the existing triple chair I have marked with a yellow line. The red circles are the top and bottom bullwheels of that lift. The yellow line extends to around where it may go to reach the 1000 Feet summit. (with that side's existing quad chairlift marked with a red circle as well).

Naturally some tree clearing would be needed, and potentially some re-grading of the summit to accommodate this.

With the spring just around the corner, we should start hearing some news soon.
