Thanksgiving is never complete without a walk and hike through Gatineau Park. The leaves are approaching their peak with bright scarlet red and orange everywhere.

Today's outing was primarily around the road leading towards the Champlain Lookout (Belvédère Champlain). Following the road up from Camp Fortune, you come to Fortune Lake, a picturesque location, completed by the reflection of the leaves in the water. Continuing on, you will arrive at the Huron Lookout (Belvédère Huron). It is here that the view becomes truly incredible. Perched high up in the mountain, you can see far into the distance, across the Gatineau plains. It is quite an impressive view, and a must see when in the area.

Summer Reports

It is once again the time of year, where the fall colours shine, and the mountain calls. Mont Saint-Sauveur was in full swing of their festival of colours. Several activities were being offered. The classic chairlift rides to the top of the mountain, rides down the Viking, the pool-spa was open, horses for children and more. Live music and a BBQ rounded out the offerings.

The colours are currently not quite at their peak, but still amazing, especially when set to the backdrop of the Saint-Sauveur valley below. Being Thanksgiving weekend, there were quite a lot of people enjoying the outdoors and the unusually warm weather (26' C).

Progress on the new expanded bar of the main lodge is coming along well. The walls, roof are up and work is continuing inside.

The festival of colours continues all this weekend, as well as the next. Enjoy!
