Following registration opening to Tremblant's 24h of skiing, 2012 edition; this charitable event tipped the $10 million mark in funds raised collectively over the past 11 years.   Tremblant's 24h is celebrating this accomplishment due to a donation received by a corporate team, DJL Construction that registered for the event on June 12th at 1.59pm.

Tremblant's 24h of skiing became a first time millionaire at the 2007 edition. And ever since the event has raised over $1 million every year with $1 832 169 raised in 2011.

« Paediatric illness will never cease to exist and the well being of children is the focus of the event's philosophy.   It is impossible to celebrate this achievement without mentioning the contribution of certain people that brought the event to this point: the creators Jacques Villeneuve and Craig Pollock, the community of participants who are devoted to the cause, the donors and business people as well as the generous sponsors and media partners that contribute year after year », says Simon St-Arnaud, the event producer. For the 2012 edition, the event has for the first time been open for registration prior to the start of summer, in order to equip the participants with the necessary tools to commence their fundraising campaigns early.  The event is planning to launch a new category for the general public in order to reach a larger range of participants.  In the meantime, snow sports enthusiasts can form their teams and begin their fundraising campaigns.  The First Tracks for the 24h Kids activity, which gave several children from the foundations the chance to ski for the first time; will be further developed this year.

The goal of the 2012 edition of Tremblant's 24h of skiing remains ambitious: to raise $2 M!  The profits of the 24h are donated to 4 organisations that support children's causes: Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau, the Ottawa Senators Foundation, Fondation Martin-Matte and Fondation Tremblant.

« The 24h millions are raised $100 at a time, with more than 15 000 donations each year. It's an extremely popular gathering of big-hearted people. Businesses are always present, but there are real people behind each donation.  I hope that the population continues to support us for a long time to come. » says Pierre Rodrigue, Honorary President. Over 11 years, 12 551 participants have skied for 24 hours on the slopes of Tremblant which requires some serious work to hold an event of this amplitude as the first snowfall of December arrives.

The mission of the 24h Tremblant Foundation:
